First community credit union recognized for home loans – Jamestown Sun

To celebrate Homeownership Month in June, Erin Oban, state director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, recognized North Dakota’s top three lending partners in supporting homeownership. to rural property so far in fiscal year 2022. These three lenders have helped rural individuals and families purchase homes. through the USDA Rural Development Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program.

The agency awarded awards to the following institution leaders and their mortgage teams:

  • First community credit union, based in Jamestown.
  • Gate City Bank, based in Bismarck.
  • Dakota Community Bank & Trust, based in Bismarck.

“For countless reasons, the dream of home ownership has become increasingly elusive for too many workers, families and seniors living on fixed incomes,” Oban said. “Housing affordability and accessibility is a huge challenge in many North Dakota communities, but in partnership with USDA Rural Development, these lenders are at the forefront of their industry helping the most rural people in our state to find places where they can call home. Together, with lenders like First Community Credit Union, Gate City Bank, and Dakota Community Bank and Trust, USDA Rural Development strengthens communities, provides stability for families, and creates generational wealth by helping North Dakota become owners.
